From March 13th to 17th, at the invitation of the International Department Central Committee of Communist Party of China (IDCPC), the Workshop for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) National Executive Committee of Tanzania was held at CELAP. This delegation was led by Amos Gabriel Makalla, Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training of the CCM and comprised a total of 18 participants.

CELAP’s Vice President Zheng Jinzhou met with the members of the workshop. Mr. Liu Genfa, Director General of the Department of International Exchange and Program Development, Mr. Bai Xuezhu,  Deputy Director General of the Department of Teaching and Research, as well as accompanying comrades from IDCPC participated in the meeting.

During the workshop, CELAP arranged the thematic presentations on General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on Party building, China's practices and experiences in poverty alleviation, and the development and opening-up of Pudong. Centering on the main theme of The Practice of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in Shanghai, the participants also went on field trips to the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the CPC, the Community Party-Mass Service Center on Dongming Road Street in Pudong New Area, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, the headquarter of Alipay and other places.

This workshop has further promoted the exchanges of governance experience between the ruling parties of China and Tanzania, and strengthened the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries. Mr. Makalla, the head of the delegation, said that this visit stems from the long-term friendship between the CCM of Tanzania and the Communist Party of China, and through these exchanges, they will be committed to further tightening the relations between the two parties and consolidating the friendship between the two countries.
