On July 4, CELAP held a virtual meeting with Civil Service College Singapore (CSC) to exchange views on the prospects of cooperation between the two institutions under the frameworks of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). The meeting was attended by Roger Tan, Deputy Dean of CSC, Song Jin, Member of Executive Committee of CELAP, and Liu Genfa, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Exchange and Program Development of CELAP. The two parties reviewed the previous cooperative experiences including the China-Singapore Forum on Leadership, communication concerning leadership training, and mutual visits of faculty members, before they shed light on the major innovative practices of international exchanges in the context of COVID-19 prevention and control and the effects thereof. Song Jin noted that CSC was among the first partners to sign an international cooperation agreement with CELAP, and the close cooperation between the two ever since has produced fruitful results. In the context of the pandemic, the two sides may hold online communication meetings and international courses for interactions and discussions on cultural exchanges and other topics, in a joint effort to create a win-win situation. Roger Tan pointed out that since the COVID-19 outbreak, the two institutions have accumulated valuable experience in terms of international exchange and cooperation. CSC stands ready to work with CELAP so that the two can learn from and complement each other in their effort to explore new ways to contribute to the cultural exchanges between China and Singapore.
