Jiang Haishan Meets with Executive Director of China Studies Center of University of Sydney



On Nov. 13, Vice President Jiang Haishan met with Prof. Kerry Brown, Executive Director of China Studies Center of University of Sydney. Prof. Brown joined in a discussion with CELAP faculty and staff members on China's leadership education and cooperative possibilities between two sides.

 

Prof. Jiang Haishan introduced CELAP's overall conditions including target participants, featured programs, training model and international cooperation. On gaining a better understanding of China, Prof. Jiang said, “To understand China one must understand its regional differences. CELAP's participants come from across the country, therefore the academy is a window for the world to learn about and understand China.” As for China-Australia relations, he noted that CELAP has maintained very good relations with Australian research institutions and hope to further cooperation in leadership training.

 

Prof. Brown highly valued the teaching facility and campus scenes, as well as CELAP's achievements in training leaders. He hopes to build stable cooperative relations in the future and cooperate on multiple topics in public policies.

 

The China Studies Center facilitates cross-disciplinary research collaboration on wide-ranging themes of relevance to China with an aim to develop an international centre of excellence for research on China.
